I'm starting something new today. I am going to start listing things that I absolutely hate about Time Warner Cable's DVR software as I come across them in hopes that someone, somewhere might actually read them and implement fixes for these things...
Let me start by saying first and foremost, God I miss FIOS.
Software FAIL #1:
When I am recording something on tuner A and want to switch the station, a box pops up with the following information:
Your recording is in progress, the action you have taken will stop the recording. Select one of the following options:
Swap to your other tuner
Stop Recoding, continue action
Go Back
Well, I don't know about how you feel, but my DVR should be smart enough to use the SECOND tuner with out me telling it to. I should not have to say "Use the second one." That is STUPID. The entire reason the box is DUAL TUNER is so I can watch something and record something at the same time.
Solution? Just take the dialogue box away and let the box be smart enough to switch tuners. My FIOS box was able to do this no problem.
Note, this is a different situation from using both tuners to record. If I am recording two things and my recoding will be interrupted, by all means tell me.

The cat decided to pee on my clothes...
I leave town for Easter weekend to go to Italy (that is Italy, Texas for those of you scoring at home), and when I return, my room is filled with one of the most God awful smells I've been privileged to in a good while. This smell might be worse than anything my brother has ever produced. I look for the source of the pungentness (Not sure that is a word. You word nazis might have a field day with that one) and my sniffer quickly leads me in the direction of the closet, or more specifically, the dirty clothes basket, ripe with dirty clothes. After a quick inspection I realized they were damp and smelt like complete ass. Complete. Ass. I see the cat coming in and out of my room once in a while so I put two and two together and come up with one... dead cat that is... So when you ask "Aaron, what did you do on your last night off on the long Easter weekend"? My reply will be seven loads of laundry... At least I'm getting pretty good at it.
